Adapting processes to rapid growth
The project management team required assistance in implementing systems that would assist in the internal processes that would make running projects more efficient. The solutions we found that would work best for the company to ensure it could manage and execute the company’s growing number of projects was a targeted mentoring program for its Senior Project Managers and Leads. They confirmed the approach and supported the program. I then assembled an onsite team of experienced project management mentors to develop customized solutions. Mentors used existing project and portfolio processes, procedures, and templates. We also worked on developing a PMO structure that would centralize project and portfolio operations. As part of the program, we also did workshops and as a result, we created "the essential components of project management" which the project leads would share with their teams.
